Growing up, we learn to go to school, get good grades, go to college, get a massive student loan debt, then get a good paying job. Do that for 45 years, rinse, repeat, retire.

The primary problem with this system (there are many) is that we are trading time for money. Time is our most precious commodity. You can replace material things. You can replace money. But you can never get back lost time.

When you choose to run on the “trading time for money treadmill,” you are creating self-imposed limitations. You’ll have limitations on your earnings (there are only so many hours in a day) and, as a result, you’ll have limitations on how much money you can earn.

Who would consciously decide to put a cap on their income? Nearly all of us, ait would seem.

Be creative in your quest to create wealth. Look for ways to leverage others‘ efforts so you’ll be paid for your hours AND their hours. Find a way to create residual income. Purchase an asset that will pay you.

But if you decide to participate in the trading time for money game, that is a game you cannot win.

“We don’t have an eternity to realize our dreams, only the time we are here.” ~ Susan Taylor
